My specs. 4790K @4.4GHz on Noctua ND14, EVGA GTX 1080 Iron, Samsung 850 PRO SSD, 16 GB 2133 DDR3 RAM and other stuff.
Screen, Dell U2415 UltraSharp, regular setting 1980x1200 at 60GHz. I know it is a bottleneck for whatever serious GPU upgrade.
My favorite games are Far Weep 4 user maps and Far Weep v when it comes, and Wolfenstein series.
I had previously GTX 970 and I could play Far Weep on merely High settings smoothly with FPS deeping sometimes to 30-40 FPS, hence the upgrade.
And so in improver to upgrade I decided to overclock my U2415 using NVIDIA control panel "Custom Resolution" option.
Overclock it is, from 60GHz to 80GHz, tested with various blur tests, all pass with flying colors, no frame skipping etc.
Tried Far Cry 4 and Wolfenstein New Social club, both cranked to ULTRA and everything every bit Loftier as possible.
Consequence is very frustrating - FPS is fixed at 60, not 80 as information technology should, WTF? Monitor already overclocked to 80GHz, so FPS suppose to be at eighty or around, correct?
What am I missing?
Appreciate any suggestions equally always

Could you lot please explicate then, how to increase FPS. I experimented on Wallenstein The New Society, turned Vsync on and off - no difference, FPS stays on 60 and I accept no thought what is the frame limiter (not that I am planning to use it).
I know that I did a fault, thanks for correction GHz non, merely Hz.
Appreciate for suggestions, at least here I have some ideas, not similar @ overclocker forum - nothing.
Edit. Just tried Far Cry 4, this game is officially supported by NVIDIA, but I did not use Geforce Experience still. I put this game on ULTRA quality (with GTX 970 I could play only on HIGH, and FPS were dropping some times) and Five sync off - and information technology is working at 90 FPS, but if I enable Vsync, FPS stuck @ 60, why? Should it be 80 instead?
Y'all can cheque with the specific game support and encounter why it does not go over 60fps if the hardware can run it faster, there are some support threads on it on steam https://steamcommunity.com/app/201810/discussions/0/523897653313466955/

I think he means V-Sync is capping the game to lx fps rather than 80.
Try playing without V-Sync. From what I've seen it Five-Sync seems to merely cap to standardized values similar 60, 120, and 144 in some games, depends on implementation I guess.
Too it's but Hz, not GHz. 60 refreshes per second is non the same every bit sixty billion refreshes per 2nd. The 1000 isn't just for decoration, it does mean something.

Edit. Just tried Far Weep 4, this game is officially supported by NVIDIA, just I did not employ Geforce Feel nonetheless. I put this game on ULTRA quality (with GTX 970 I could play only on High, and FPS were dropping some times) and V sync off - and it is working at 90 FPS, only if I enable Vsync, FPS stuck @ 60, why? Should information technology exist 80 instead?

Your link did not provide the respond, but it pb me to it.
Apparently Wolfenstein New Order and Wolfenstein The Old Blood are locked to 60 FPS in the engine, but some smart guys plant the fashion around information technology. It is applicable to RAGE also (I don't have information technology).
The post-obit links are must to read in order to unlock FPS in those two games. It might be applicable to the new Wallenstein Colossus coming this Autumn as well, who knows.
Here you go

Actually, second video is simply next subsequently the commencement one. So, result of this tweaking is as much FPS as your arrangement can support. Volition try soon myself, just information technology seems legit.
I hope it helps other people.
I wish I could change the championship of that thread to address this issue.
